SaskCIRT

SaskCIRT was formed to bring together technical experts in the Saskatchewan computer security industry. Our members come from both the public and the private sector. The goal of the group is to provide information and support on security issues that affect the Saskatchewan market.

Mission Statement

Our charter is to work with the security incident investigation and response staff of organizations in the local Internet community to detect and resolve computer security incidents as well as taking steps to prevent future incidents. Our specific mission is to:

• Provide a comprehensive view of attack methods and the impact of attacks on information systems and networks.
• Provide information on local incident and vulnerability trends and characteristics.
• Build an infrastructure community of increasingly competent security professionals who respond quickly to attacks on Internet-connected systems and are able to protect their systems against security compromises.
• To aid rapid incident response by providing open information mechanisms supported by member organizations.
